On Monday night, Russell Wilson, starting quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks (@DangeRussWilson) tweeted, “I don’t think there is possibly a guy or girl who loves Seattle more than I do. What do you think!? Do I have any takers?” Photographer Mark Olwick (@Markolwick) immediately connected the challenge to Ann Peavey, the go-to ambassador for Seattle information at Visit Seattle (@SeattleMaven) and we knew we had to get in on the fun!   And, so… Ride the Ducks is proud to announce: The EPIC I ♥ Seattle Battle!   We’d like to extend an official invite for the Seattle Maven and Russell Wilson to Ride the Ducks of Seattle on a agreed upon date of your choice. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Posted by on Mar 24, 2013 in Uncategorized

When the Irish Heritage Club called us last week and asked us to be part of the St. Patrick’s Day parade, we were thrilled! Each year, the parade organizers have a Senior’s Shamrock Shuttle for those that don’t want to walk the distance! This year, the lucky seniors got to ride on a Duck, complete with a barbershop quartet! We decorated the Duck with green shamrocks, racing stripes and pinwheels to really get into the festivities! The Irish Heritage Club of Greater Seattle is a non-profit organization that promotes and organizes activities of an Irish cultural nature. Throughout the year, they celebrate Irish heritage with events that include Irish music, dancing, language and history, plus Gaelic games and exchanges with Seattle’s Irish sister city! The parade is only one of a multitude of fun and interesting Irish-themed events that happen year-round. Thanks for including us in the St. Patrick’s Day fun! We’re looking forward to next year! Yes, we’re hoping to build a new boat ramp

If you’re a newspaper reader in Seattle, you may have seen today’s article on the front page of the Seattle Times. Yes, Ride the Ducks is hoping to build a new boat ramp on the eastside of Lake Union. Last year, we purchased a small piece of land at the old NOAA site and are currently working with the City of Seattle for the permits to build a ramp in the fall. We’re excited about the opportunity and we wanted to take a minute to speak up about a couple things: – This has been an open process. Brian Tracey, our President/CEO, has met twice with the neighborhood associations in a public forum. We’ve listened to their concerns and worked to address them. We’re moving into a new neighborhood and we’re working hard to be great neighbors! – We want to make the area more pleasant and more beautiful. The plans to beautify Terry Pettus Park and the surrounding area are amazing! The area is currently run-down and you’ll often find vagrants and drug dealers in the area. Currently, there’s a dock for hand-launching small boats, but it’s derelict and the street edge is overgrown. Check it out! Here is the area now: And here’s the mock-up for after: – The...
