One of the many things that makes the Emerald City amazing is its true natural beauty surrounding the bustling metropolis. In our own backyard, you can take your sailboat on Lake Union for Duck Dodge or go water skiing on Lake Washington. Both waterways provide access to Elliott Bay and the Puget Sound through the Ballard Locks and less than 30 minutes from the city, there are beautiful ski resorts, like the Summit at Snoqualmie, Stevens and Crystal Mountain, complete with the Mt. Rainier Gondola! During the winter, these mountains are covered in snow and during the summer, they offer some of the coolest hiking and biking trails in the Pacific Northwest. If you love to camp or climb, head up to Mt. Rainier or just enjoy its beauty as you drive south on I-5 on a sunny day. Love mountains? To the west, the Cascades peek through the clouds with their snow-capped beauty year-round.
