Whether you’re visiting the Emerald City for the first time or you’re a born-and-raised local, we’ve got the list for ultimate IG inspiration as a 10-part blog series!
Let’s Head Over To Capitol Hill!
Capitol Hill is on the East side of Interstate 5 and possesses 12 of the city’s steepest street grades (hence the “Hill” part). As a lively and progressive Seattle neighborhood, Capitol Hill, also referred to as “Cap Hill,” can be described as the hub of Seattle’s music culture where live tunes can be heard at bars and venues around every corner. The area is known for its vibrant nightlife, art scene, and tons of diverse eateries at your fingertips. All of these qualities provide endless opportunities to capture quirky shots in this awesome and culturally adventurous neighborhood!
Murals and stylish buildings decorate the neighborhood—as well as colorful rainbow crosswalks that show support towards the LGBTQ community. The area is bursting with character!
Did we mention there are TONS of places to satiate your appetite? The food options are not only delicious, but the restaurants are often picture perfect! Seen below are Frankie & Jo’s plant-based ice cream shop, Mexican torta-sandwhiches from Tortas Condesa, and craft coffee from Oddfellows Café & Bar.
Let’s not forget about the photos that are waiting to be captured at the picturesque Bar Melusine or Harry’s Fine Foods! Another great spot to check out is Chophouse Row, which offers food, beverage and retail options to explore. The neighborhood is full of trendy food spots–which is often reflected in the design and style of the restaurant!
Being up on a hill like that, Capitol Hill flaunts some pretty amazing viewpoints. Not only that, but there are plenty of parks to explore too! Volunteer Park is home to a beautiful conservatory, as well as the Asian Art Museum. If time allows, check out Cal Anderson Park, which was named one of the 12 Best City Parks in the U.S.!
As you can see, Capitol Hill has so much to offer! It simply cannot be missed.
