Ben D. Rulz

Posted by on Aug 24, 2017 in Uncategorized

Captain Ben D. Rulz As the son of a son of a sailor, Captain Ben D. Rulz has always looked toward the sea when seeking adventure. A water lover from the beginning, he was practically born with webbed feet; making it easy for him to obtain his SCUBA certification by the age of 13. After spending a year in Okinawa courtesy of the United States Marine Corps, it has been his life’s journey to make it back someday, at least to visit if not to settle permanently. While searching for the boat that will carry him back out across the high seas, this San Francisco Bay Area native heard the whale song of the Pacific Northwest and migrated north to Seattle almost three years ago. Until he sails away to more exotic locales, Captain Ben is more than happy to carry folks out onto Lake Union, sharing his love of the water on a much smaller scale. As you can imagine, being a tour guide at Ride the Ducks is a ton of fun and you get to listen to a lot of great music. Our Quackmasters of Fun have compiled a Spotify playlist of some of their favorite songs that you might hear on your Duck Tour.  ...

Clem Chowder

Posted by on Aug 24, 2017 in Uncategorized

Captain Clem Chowder Having reached a crossroads in 2009 after a long career running a construction company, Captain Clem Chowder left the decision-making process for his next job in the hands of his wife, Mrs. Chowder. She combed the classifieds, and presented exactly two options to Clem. The first ad was for a job that would require him to walk up to 20 miles a day for the US Forest Service on behalf of trail maintenance and something described as “Bear Patrol/Decoy.” Nope. The very next job posting simply asked ,”Do you like people? Are you a fun person to be around? Do you want to drive a big metal box with wheels into the lake?” This time, the answers were definitely, “Yes, YES, and YES!” Since Captain Clem Chowder joined us at Ride the Ducks of Seattle, he has taken tons of people on countless trips through the city and on the lake having copious amounts of fun talking about history and telling bad jokes (or is that talking about jokes, and telling bad history?). Either way, when you meet Clem for the first time he will say, “Hello very much” and take you on a great ride! As you can imagine, being a tour guide at Ride...

Bri Le Fromage

Tour Guide Bri Le Fromage Bri Le Fromage is exactly as her name suggest, she’s cheesy. Her favorite things about being a Tour Guide is all the awesome people she can tell about her clumsiness, rebellion, and her love for CHEESE. Though she’s banned from half the museums in town, she loves Seattle as much as her cheddar. She’s not a Seattlelite, nope, she hales from the state of Texas and California and Arkansas and Kansas and the Pacific Ocean… there’s probably more, but she’s a bit of a space cadet. Her favorite part of the tour is when the Duck turns into a boat and brings her a little closer to her mermaid roots. Come see this mermaid and her cheese crown in all her Gouda glory! As you can imagine, being a tour guide at Ride the Ducks is a ton of fun and you get to listen to a lot of great music. Our Quackmasters of Fun have compiled a Spotify playlist of some of their favorite songs that you might hear on your Duck Tour.   Back to Tour...

Stormy Weathers

Posted by on Aug 24, 2017 in Uncategorized

Tour Guide Stormy Weathers Stormy’s approach to her tour is that she is showing friends around her city, telling them about the highlights while giving out hints about cool things to do after the tour. Instead of just delivering a “tour,” she strives to be a story teller — and Seattle sure has its share of interesting stories! Ride the Ducks of Seattle isn’t her first time serving as a Tour Guide. She’s hosted guests at The Riordan Mansion in Flagstaff, Arizona and Biringer Farm right here in Washington. A graduate of Puget Sound Christian College, Stormy has had a diverse background as a youth minister, a social worker, a volunteer boxing coach (don’t mess with her!), and she is working to make a name for herself as an artist. Born in New York, Stormy considers Flagstaff, Arizona her hometown. She moved to Washington in 1997 and Seattle in 2014. Her close-knit family includes her 2 adult kids, Kate and Corey, her grandbaby, Madelyn, and her mom. Stormy Weathers says of her persona, “She’s me, but louder, funnier, and I have to reign her in or she’ll just jump over every fence there is! I operate under the assumption that everyone is happy to see me.” Good assumption, Stormy!...

Tour Guide Dot S’Hilarious This is Dot’s first season with Ride the Ducks of Seattle and she loves it! As an avid traveler, Dot loves playing tourist in her native city with her guests, especially while wearing her octopus-inspired hat, chair dancing and telling cheesy pirate jokes. Outside of the Duck, you will mostly likely find Dot thrift store shopping and/or eating (most likely eating) in the U District. This summer she is also hoping to quack at guests from the Lake Union hot tub boat. As you can imagine, being a tour guide at Ride the Ducks is a ton of fun and you get to listen to a lot of great music. Our Quackmasters of Fun have compiled a Spotify playlist of some of their favorite songs that you might hear on your Duck Tour.   Keep up with Dot’s latest adventures in Duck Diaries: Volume II! Rik O’Shay

Captain Rik O’Shay Captain Rik O’Shay is a good ol’ cowpoke from Wedgewood. That mullet? It’s a wig. (Shhh. Don’t let on that you know.) Captain Rik hopes someday to be as smart as Dr. Phil and as rich as Oprah. It might not be obvious, but Captain Rik is Fabio’s stand-in, and is the ping pong champion of Seattle. When not driving the Ducks, he can usually be found watching ‘Dancing with the Stars!’ or ‘The Bachelor’ and participating in several of the online discussion groups about those shows. His dream is to one day meet Wynonna Judd. As you can imagine, being a tour guide at Ride the Ducks is a ton of fun and you get to listen to a lot of great music. Our Quackmasters of Fun have compiled a Spotify playlist of some of their favorite songs that you might hear on your Duck Tour.   Back to Tour...
