There’s no denying that Seattle’s unwavering beauty and eccentric quirks create the perfect backdrop for impressive Instagram photo opportunities. From famous landmarks, to mouthwatering restaurants, to awe-inspiring public art, Seattle is a photographer’s dream come true! Whether you’re visiting the Emerald City for the first time or you’re a born-and-raised local, we’ve got the list for ultimate IG inspiration as a 10-part blog series!

Last time, we showed you Pike Place Market!

Now Let’s Check Out Lake Union!

Named for its role in connecting Lake Washington to the Puget Sound in a “union of waters”—Lake Union has become one of Seattle’s top recreational spots. And don’t forget…you can catch an awesome vantage point of all the action from a Duck!

Lake Union offers a plethora of activities AND viewpoints for the ultimate urban explorer! Got food on your mind? Ivar’s will hook you up with delicious AND insta-worthy fish ‘n’ chips. Looking to get out on the water? Rent a kayak or paddle board (or ride a Duck tour!).

Fly high with Kenmore Air or set out on foot and discover the floating neighborhoods surrounding Lake Union. Yes–that’s right, floating neighborhoods! Lake Union is lined with floating homes and house boats.

On the North end of Lake Union, Gas Works Park creates the ultimate backdrop that is uniquely Seattle. Once an old gasification plant, Gas Works was turned into an official city park in 1975. Leftover gasification structures loom over rolling green hills that offer incredible views of the lake AND skyline you won’t find anywhere else.
