Today, Seattle says goodbye to one of our favorite fisherman: Captain Phil Harris. Captain Phil, star of Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch and captain of the Cornelia Marie, died this morning. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
Harris started working on fishing boats at age 7 and started work 10 years later on a crab boat. When Harris turned 21, he ran a fishing vessel out of Seattle, making him one of the youngest to captain a vessel in the Bering Sea. Click here for the full AP story.
Captain Phil visited Ride the Ducks of Seattle in the summer of 2009 and his laughter and energy brightened the day of our employees and guests. He will be greatly missed.
