Public Art (Seattle Fun Fact #59)

The Popsicle! It’s art! Seattle loves public art so much so that in 1986, Seattle voters approved a public levy requiring all development projects using more than $1 of public money to allocate a full 1% of the construction cost to public art! The result? Some very awesome public art in Seattle, including the Hammering Man outside of the Seattle Art Museum, the bamboo forest next to EMP Museum and the Popsicle in Belltown! (Yum!)
