Ducks in the Community

We Love Seattle

Ride the Ducks of Seattle is locally-owned and operated and we’ve built our business by caring about our guests, their experience and the Seattle community. We love Seattle.

In 2008, we began a partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation Northwest and have raised more than $50,000 in donations for them. This number continues to grow through our Stuff the Duck program and we’re thrilled to be able to make a difference for the Starlight kids and their families. Each year, we also donate more than $10,000 in tickets to non-profit organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are committed to continuing to foster our mutually-beneficial relationships with the neighborhoods, communities and our partners throughout Seattle. Tourism is one of Washington State’s largest industries and we’re proud to be a part of it.

If you’d like to see what we’re doing in the local community, want a Duck to be part of your community event or to request a ticket donation for your organization, you’re in the right place.

Ride the Ducks supports Starlight Children’s Foundation Northwest

Ride the Ducks of Seattle has been very fortunate to have been embraced by the local community. Part of our core values has always been to give back to the community and in 2008, we decided to focus on one non-profit organization where we could make a big difference. We searched high and low for a local organization that was a good fit with our fun and wacky tours and when we found Starlight Northwest, we knew we’d found the answer.

Starlight Mission: To help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.

The mission of Starlight Children’s Foundation Northwest is “to help seriously ill children and their families cope with their pain, fear and isolation through entertainment, education and family activities.” In a nutshell, they help seriously ill children be kids again. Together with Starlight, the entire family can take trips to the zoo, a baseball game or see a movie premier, and seriously ill children can play Nintendo Wii from their hospital beds thanks to Nintendo’s amazing mobile video game consoles! “Seriously ill children miss out on so much of the fun they need and deserve,” said Steve McGraw at our 2010 Starlight Day event. “Riding the Ducks is something many of them would never otherwise get to do, and it’s a unique thrill they’ll always remember.”

For many kids, laughter really is the best medicine and since 2008, Ride the Ducks has been excited to partner with an organization where all of the proceeds go directly back into the Pacific Northwest community. Starlight shares our belief that everyone deserves to have a little fun in their life and by supporting the Starlight Children’s Foundation, we believe that we can make Seattle an even better place to live, work and play for all families.

We’re proud to be part of the Starlight family and we’re honored that they have allowed us to be part of theirs. Since 2008, we’ve raised more than $50,000 for Starlight Northwest through donations, ticket sales and Stuff the Duck.

Help us Stuff the Duck with toys for Starlight!

Each December, Ride the Ducks collects unwrapped toys onboard a DUKW amphibious landing craft to donate to Starlight Children’s Foundation Northwest. When the Duck is stuffed full of toys, we will add $10,000 to the donation!

When you help Ride the Ducks Stuff the Duck, not only will you help make the holidays a little brighter for seriously-ill children and their families, but for every toy you donate, you’ll get a discount on your Duck Tour!
